Nature and going back to basics are what defines a summer house to me. These things can easily be introduced into your home.
People in Sweden love their summer houses. Many enjoy them all year around as a city escape in the weekends. There are a few elements that create the feeling of a summer house and that can easily be added to your home, no matter where or how you live. I find making small changes to my home as the seasons change, creates a positive rhythm and feeling of wellbeing. To follow seasonal change is much more rewarding than any interior trends, all it takes is some attention to your surroundings and listening to your instinct.
Summer, the season of light make me want to move outdoors, keep things simple so I can enjoy more of my days and bring in all of the inspiration, details and memories back into my home.
Create your own seasonally stylish Swedish summer home by painting the floors white, add a few rag rugs, change your cushions to light colours such as; white, green and blue, collect sea shells, dry your wild flowers and decorate your house with memories of those beautiful summer days.
