A bit about yourself:

Maria Sabbah the designer and founder of Tellkiddo. A family business based in Sweden. We are making mainly storage solutions for toys and beddings.

Where you live and who you live with:

We live on Gotland, a Swedish island in the Baltic sea. It's me and my husband and together we have 2 sons (Micha, 6 months and Sam 2 years) We also have two furry interns (cats).

Favourite/coolest item in your home:

I don’t know if its so cool but footprints of our sons in plaster when they were really small.

Fail-safe decorating trick:

A lot of storage solutions in the kids rooms so its easy to clean and store all the ugly toys :P

First thing you thought of this morning:

I had my first night away from the kiddos, so when I woke up the first thing I did was to think about them.

A talent you wish you had:

I wish I was good at more languages, to be able to communicate with people I meet in all countries I travel to.

Advice to your younger self:

Don’t hurry to grow up, and don’t take life too seriously, it's important to have fun and relax a bit (I studied and worked a lot as a teenager).

Favourite band of all times:

It's hard not to love Michael Jackson.

Your style icon:

I don’t have one, I always try to seek inspirations in newly graduated designers and stylist, they often give different angles of old ideas and that I find very inspirational.

Favourite /least favourite colour:

Depends in what context, but if I'm about to decorate my home I always try to work with a light grey tone as a base to be able to add more colourful furniture.

Least favourite colour I have to say orange, it's a tricky colour to work with.

Best way to de-compress:

To see a great TV series, at the time it's GOT, and even better is when you have saved three weeks of episodes and can watch them all at once.

A superpower you wish you had:

I have to say fly, it would be really cool to be able to fly all around the world.

Cats or Dogs:

Cats, I would never have time for a dog.

Maria's Little black book of Stockholm

Coolest thing about Stockholm:

The diversity between the different islands Stockholm is built on, the parks, the water, the restaurants and people from all over the world.

Where you like to hang out:

Södermalm, it's a bit bohemian, hipster, modern part of the city. Where you can find good organic coffee shops and also stroll in the stores that have brands like Acne, House Doctor, Hay etc

Favourite restaurant/ bar /café:

My favourite at the moment is Falafel Baren on Södermalm, where you can get falafel, haloumi and hummus wrap, delicious.

Top 3 local stores:

Weekday, Acne jr and Fablab

Top 3 online interior stores/brands:

Fourmonkeys, a one stop kids store with the latest toys and clothes

Hay, love their design

Tea and Kate, a new find of my, love their good taste
